Minimum Education: Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent recognised care-support training. CPR/First Aid will be preferred.

Years of Experience: 1 to 4 years of long-term care, retirement home, home care, hospital support, or elder-care experience.

Salary Range: Minimum salary: CAD 40,000 per year. Maximum salary: CAD 52,000 per year, depending on shifts, union status, and experience.

Detailed Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the core activities connected with the personal support worker – long-term care position. The work requires a balance of technical ability, documentation discipline, communication, and follow-through. Key responsibilities will include:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, feeding support, and comfort care.
• Observe changes in resident condition and report concerns to registered staff according to facility procedure.
• Support safe transfers, fall-prevention routines, infection-control measures, meal assistance, and respectful companionship.
• Maintain care records, follow privacy expectations, and work cooperatively with nurses, recreation staff, housekeeping, and families.

The position also requires regular coordination with managers, colleagues, vendors, customers, patients, site teams, or support functions depending on the nature of the assignment. The candidate will be expected to maintain records accurately, respond to issues in a timely manner, and escalate concerns before they create delays, service failures, safety concerns, or client dissatisfaction.
